Hand tools come in all shapes and varieties, from a measly screw driver or hammer to some bulky tool box. However portable ones have certain definite advantages over the stationary or relatively immobile ones which are explained below.
Portable hand tools can be corded or cordless; whereas cordless ones run on battery the corded hand tools use electric power. The advantages of both are that they can be easily carried with you to home, office or your weekend trip in a carry case, however if planning to use in a jungle trip then surely the cordless ones are more preferable.
Stationary or fixed hand tools are mostly used for doing heavy duty work or where high volumes are required, however they do not have the carry-your-work-with-you advantages as is the case with portable hand tools, also they normally cannot use alternate power sources.
So the choice is clear, if your work involves constant moving from one place to another then surely use portable hand tools but if it is of fixed kind and involves high volume then static hand tools are right for you, but all said and done one thing has to be added that both are complimentary to each other than being exclusive of each other. |
