If you are into older Hand Tools and don’t fancy the modern power Hand gizmos then you should definitely check out this classic by Leo McDonnell. The fact that the book is of 1978 vintage shouldn’t deter professionals and even the lay user from understanding how hand tools have evolved over the years.
The book shows how to gain mastery over the popular hand tools of that period through nice illustrations and detailed explanation. The layout is standard and the book covers a wide range of Hand and Woodworking tools. While some tools like the Hammer or the wrench have remained more or less unchanged, some like the hand saw have seen complete overhaul. The only grudge one might have with the book is its price which sells for more than 80 bucks on Amazon, pretty steep considering the years gone buy, still if you have enough to spare then a worthy read for sure. |
